Some highlights of George's running career include representing GB in Thailand in November 2022 where he placed in the top 10 in the world, a win at the Pikes Peak Ascent in 2018, and winning the 85k Trans Gran Canaria Advanced race in 2023.
George has been a runner all of his life in various guises, mainly for fun and as a way to explore at a quicker pace. He began to take running more seriously since joining the Army in 2012. Since then he has seen a steady progression to the point of representing GB at the World Mountain and Trail Running Championships in ultra-trail.
George lives in the Lake District in Cumbria where access to the mountins, such as they are in England, is easy to come by. In recent years he has moved away slightly from the fell scene that he began with and now concentrates mainly on longer trails in Europe and the US, racing to explore different areas and compete against some of the best that the sport has to offer.
